Kimberly moved to Northeast Georgia nineteen years ago to advance her first career in software design and development. After more than a decade working in management and software development, Kimberly returned to school and obtained her Master’s Degree in Social Work and Law Degree from the University of Georgia. She and her husband live in Suwanee, Georgia, and have two adult children and one grandchild.

Through her unique educational path, Kimberly has focused on advocacy for children and families. Her training and education in mental health issues, and family, group, and individual counseling provide a holistic framework from which to craft creative legal and life solutions. During law school, Kimberly worked for the DeKalb County Child Advocacy Center, assisting in representation of children’s best interests in juvenile court deprivation cases. She also worked for the Georgia Child Advocate Office, proposing new legislation on behalf of children involved with the juvenile court. Kimberly joined Susan D. Brown and Associates following law school, practicing primarily in domestic relations and juvenile matters in Northeast Georgia.

Kimberly provides representation to our clients in juvenile court matters, adoptions, divorces (contested and uncontested), child custody and visitation, child support, alimony, legitimation and paternity actions, post divorce issues, grandparent and third party custody, grandparent visitation, and custody matters involving the Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction and Enforcement Act.

Kimberly is a registered general civil and domestic mediator in the state of Georgia. She believes mediation is a valuable tool in the amicable resolution of domestic disputes, and recognizes that the best solutions often are ones that parties construct themselves through the assistance of a neutral facilitator.
